Spectacularly bad film night experience!! Mental health challenge!!

Todays film night featured Sam Peckinpah's Straw Dogs a film we literally selected from a pile based on the writing on the back.

It was not as billed "Amazing".

It was in fact Nauseating, and both of us simultaneously stopped watching it. (I walked off into the kitchen to make a cup of tea, unable to take any more of the nastiness on my little screen, and assuming that my reaction of revulsion was unusually strong or even inappropriate in todays context I had to go back and pause the film to ask him to "tell me when to change over because I ain't watching this crap", to find he had gone also...

Presumably because it's on a DVD this sort of thing has a following out there, all I can say is that for once I was SO GLAD that No-One from here attends my film nights. I'd have been mortified which if I understand correctly mathematically speaking equates to "Ashamed" raised to the power of two.

UGH. After that experience, going out tonight will be a breeze...
