Sensory assessment- what have your experiences been?

my daughter is 12 and we have been told that NHS won’t do a sensory assessment for 12 yrs plus

we need to go private

has anyone else done this?

what has been your experience?

is it worth subjecting my daughter to this?

  • Hi. I just joined today so just read your post. Have you got an answer from somewhere or someone yet? My15 yr old autistic son was diagnosed when he was 5 but I don't recall a sensory assessment being done. My son is being seen by CAMHS and the support worker mentioned that the sensory assessment will be difficult to perform until my son engages/talks/allows the professionals to talk to him. Who has told you that the sensory assessment is not available on the NHS? CAMHS is NHS.
