Fascination with pregnancy

My 16 year old son has, over the last 3 years had an obsession with pregnant women and those that have recently given birth. He has approached 3 and asked and said inappropriate things.  He has been in counselling for nearly a year, and she believed he was in a really good place, until 2 days ago when he spoke to a woman again, afetr knocking at her front door. In between these incidetns he became obsessed with phoning materity units, but hasn't done so since counselling began.

Has anyone any experience of incidents like this or where I can get help.

Thanks

  • Hello, just jumping on this thread as my son (12) too is fascinated with pregnancy.  More so the baby bump itself.   He’s been approaching pregnant teachers at school and has asked them to show him their belly!

I have tried to explaining the stages of pregnancy and we have looked at books together to try and help him understand better.  Also explained he needs to keep his hands to himself and reminded him about boundaries / personal space.  My son also has ADHD and can be quite impulsive and despite our conversations he still gets himself into situation.  He the. Feels terrible as he knows on reflection that it isn’t appropriate

any advise anyone could offer would be welcomed.
    thanks

  • If his motivation is learning about pregnancy and childbirth, perhaps redirecting him to alternative sources of information, medical textbooks, videos of gestation and childbirth etc., might fulfil his curiosity without him needing to approach other people about it?
