Sense of Purpose

Now after a lot of things plus the ASD diagnosis. I started feeling this missing feeling in me. I am not as motivated as I was. I am looking for my purpose something that I get energetic for, something that matters. I am lost. I don't know what it is. All I can identify is this feeling of something missing. Has anyone felt something similar to what I am feeling? And how can I figure this out? Why am I not satisfied anymore by the things I thought would be satisfying?

  • Hi A. What do you think is going on to make you feel this way: the Autism diagnosis, the other things or a combination of the two.

I have been wondering about my purpose. Is it work? Is it my family? I wonder.... what is my identity? Because of this I have thrown myself into reading about Autism. This has been helping.

Best wishes and hope you and I both find what we are looking for.

I tend to think of my purpose as being to help others by using my experiences, skills and learning to avoid the same mistakes I made.

Part saviour, part redemption, part teacher - all of which help me do good and also feel better about myself.

Maybe that is narcasism, but if it leads to good things for others then I think it an evil worth tolerating.
