Council Housing and wellbeing.

I have to be honest I'm completely anxiety ridden and I am at loss in what to do. I am very worried and depressed and my meds not working.

I lived in a flat but I felt very isolated and lonely and moved back in with my mum and dad just over a year but my dad is a alcoholic. He can get very verbally abusive at times.

I would like to move in a suitable council flat as I am very vulnerable. I was told by my social worker that I was not peroity as I'm a single male under 50. I feel like no one is taking me seriously and I'm so lost.

I live in South Wales on band 2 told they can't put me into 1 as I'm not that bad yet. It's a waiting list and not a bidding one.

I feel very upset and on a verge of being S***** can I do anything to speed up the process? They could not tell my social worker how long I have to wait. Can I not look myself?

I'm so lost here and I'm not sure what to do. Just want to have a nice place of my own be happy and comfortable.

  • If you have family elsewhere in the country then you can apply for their council areas too. as it means you have a family connection for example lets pretend you live in London but you have a family member in Edinburgh and one in York, that means that you can apply for council and housing associations in both areas, you would have to provide their addresses so that they can check out that you are telling them the truth.
