RE: Low mood and autism

Hello all.

I have been in a low mood.

I was struggling with phrasing a question, and I had to do it without any support. I do have DSA sessions but when you do not have them and you are struggling, like in this case, it is hard to get any support.

I was thinking about how we are just expected to manage a large workload on our own, and how I may have been misunderstood when I asked a DSA support worker how I should allocate time for my employability.

I was having a memory of when a staff member placed a lot of emphasis on university being independent, not acknowledging my autism difficulties at all. This has stayed with me.

  • I had a telephone appointment this morning with the hospital, the doctor was from the endiochlogy dept, so ir wasn't particulrly about autism, but thyroids effect just about everything, physically and mentalily, head to toe. One of the questions she asked was about mood swings. I told her because i'm here byself, and can go days if not weeks, and not see or speak to another single soul. I find it difficult to judge how good or bad a mood i am in.
