Stuffed up nose, crying, can't breathe!

I don't suppose anyone has any advice on how to cry without getting a blocked nose? I absolutely hate having a blocked nose and having to breathe through my mouth but it happens any time I cry so I end up getting upset about not being able to breathe as well as whatever made me cry! It's horrible!

My cat probably has cancer. I want and need to be able to cry about it, but I want to just shed tears, not snot! I might try sudafed?

  • I'm sorry to hear about your cat. Crying and getting a blocked nose can be a frustrating experience, but there are a few things that you can try to reduce the chances of this happening:

Nasal decongestants: You mentioned Sudafed, which is a common over-the-counter nasal decongestant that can help clear up a stuffy nose.

Keep tissues handy: Having tissues nearby can help you quickly wipe away any mucus or tears, reducing the chances of your nose becoming congested.

Drink plenty of water: Staying hydrated can help keep the mucous membranes in your nose moist, reducing the likelihood of your nose becoming congested.

Breathe through your nose: If possible, try to breathe through your nose while crying, as this can help to keep your airways clear.

Try to calm yourself down: Taking deep breaths and trying to calm yourself down before you start crying can help reduce the intensity of your crying and minimize the chances of getting a congested nose.

If none of these methods seem to help, you may want to talk to your doctor about other options. They may be able to recommend other treatments or suggest a different approach that could work better for you.
