Junk Psychology

Too many Cocknied Phrases, used in comments about Autism, these days. Junk psychology. The words, and clichés, change at the drop of a hat.

There's an entire generation with no life outside the Internet, and we're paying the price for it. A combination of careless parenting, and the subtle inclusion of US terminology in our linguistics. The Media were quite happy to feed us a straight diet of Imperialism, and then wonder why we're going crazy.

Parents
  • Technology is a bit of a pain in the sense that it does take over, like social media and internet trolls and little to no policing online. When I was still a kid I spent a lot of time outside playing and exploring. Most today like to be on their phone and computer, the world is changing all the time.

Parents defos aren't great for some kids. I've read a few times where kids got in trouble online and harassed, no way I'd let that happen to my kid if I was a parent.

    Hope you're ok, Desmond.

    Sending hugs your way xxx

  • Thanks. Just a little peeved; with how the past few years unfolded.

I felt that, as a young boy, I was too withdrawn; whenever I should have enjoyed my innocence. I was sexually abused, though, and too fond of reading safety manuals. That was counterproductive; as I had the fear of God in me. Growing up, I had zero confidence.

I was manipulated, growing up; offered sweets if I dobed on other pupils. My life was Book-Smart; whenever I was supposed to be Streetwise.

  • Aww, Desmond, I am so sorry. I really am. I have been through abuse and I know only too well how even ages after it can make you feel so much guilt and pain and suffering.

You are an amazing person. Never forget that because it is true. You've had a lot of setback but you are strong and keep pushing through, riding that storm to a better time.

Maybe we didn't all have a great start early on but we have all come so far and I think that is something to be very proud of.

Love and hugs, Desmond. You a bright light here and I am grateful to have met you here :)
