tips on how to stop complaining

I hope you are doing well! Or at least that you are hanging on.

I was just wondering... how do you restrain yourself from complaining to others about your mental health? I find that I always have to bring up something that bothers me and I don't like that. I mean, sure, I am a depressed, anxious and obsessive mess but I should be able to sometimes keep my suffering to myself. I don't want to make it my whole personality. I am more than just my wrecked mental health, even tho I don't feel like it rn. I just want to stop crying to my friends and boyfriend all the time. And so, do you have some tips on how to manage my mental health more "privately"?

  • You could start a journal or diary maybe?

    You defos don't want to bottle how you're feeling up as it can cause negative thoughts and make you feel worse. A journal or diary is a way of talking about it, it's private unless you choose to share it and it gets things off your chest and you can share as little as you like.

    When on your own in your room you could talk to a bear as well, or a picture, I was encouraged to do this by mental health nurse when in hospital.
