What are female high-function autistic behaviour

Hello. I am a late diagnosis of high function autism female. But information on this type of human seems to be very limited and I cannot find anything I identify with. Can anyone explain what a high-function adult female autistic woman's behaviour is please?

  • Oh boy. The characteristics are what you experience them to be anywhere along the extremes of the diagnostic criteria.

    "High functioning" means nothing really. It's only an indicator that you are presently coping. I've got a job, a social life a family, had an education. High functioning? Not if you put me in a medical situation. Try and take a tooth out and see how "high functioning" I am then...err no! Can't get any "lower functioning", lol.

    That is so true. If only the rest of the world realised and understood it.

    I'm mostly high functioning but if something takes me from my safe place and comfort zone I drop off the scale.
