Or am I the only one?
This is something I'm interested in as I used to have hallucinations when younger. They slowly dissipated. But when I'm really tired there is a fine line between dreaming and being awake.
My dreams are a whole other life - incredibly vivid. Sometimes so realistic that while in them I actually perceive entirely different futures (I tend to make goals, lists, create future possibilities while awake). There have been times where I've woken up either sad it wasn't real or relieved. But I do have entire cities or places I might return to while asleep.
I've read that the only difference between Schizophrenia and Autism is a little element in the brain responsible for differentiating between fantasy and reality and it can go awry. I am really fascinated by it. When exhausted, I might hallucinate.
Does everyone else here have vivid dreams? Or use picture-thinking to problem solve? The imagination is a powerful part of being human. Hyperphants, individuals capable of a rich imagination are usually Autistic.
My son has had possible hallucinations, once asking me why I had such vicious sharp teeth. is there a between autism and psychosis ?
Its like he goes into other worlds. recently I 'entered ' his other worlds asking about them and he carried on the story. I was nice to engage at this level, because at other times it looks like something else. The closest a psychiatrist got was dissociation.
Would love to hear more from others on this
