SUICIDE HELP

I am involved with setting up an online suicide prevention app for this with autism who are suicidal. The project involves Cambridge Uni and 4 professors, but we are looking for Lived Experience ideas to incorporate.

I have given lots of my own as I struggle with this, but has anyone else got good ideas to help??

The standard advice of Samaritans and other phone lines is humiliating in my opinion

  • I don't want an app.  I want people to stop hating on me!  We are treated like second class citizens by much of the Christian community in Cambridge such as Eden Baptist Church. The hospital staff are horrible and only seem interested in recruiting people to hate on Jews.

I don't want an app. That app is about you not us.

  • It may interest you to know that I'm currently writing a booklet on how churches can be more inclusive of autistic people. I intended to show my first draught to some autistic friends soon for feedback. With luck I'll show the 2nd one to the pastor of my local church who in fairness has been pretty accepting. In time as I get more feedback I may wish to publish it. Since I'll be putting my name on it, and since it uses a lot of anecdotal accounts from my life, I wish to get a lot of feedback first so it may not be soon.

If you've any input on issues that should be addressed I'd be interested to hear it.
