Diagnosis

Hi, my mum has been trying to get a diagnosis for me for 11 years but nothing has seemed to help. We went to my gp and they said the school or my college have to refere me but then my college and my school were saying that the doctors needed to refer me. It's been a ping pong game and both me and my mum are getting a bit hopeless. Does anyone know what I could do ? Thank you for your help

  • Bless you. This is rubbish. Either the school OR the GP could refer you. It sounds like both want to pass the responsibility back to you guys. How stressful!

    Perhaps if you and your mum write a letter addressed to both the GP and the school and tell them you really don't care who makes the referral so long as one of them does, but could they please have that bun fight between themselves rather than leave you with the stress of being piggie in the middle.

    I hope you get some results. I feel very cross on your behalf here. This really isn't good enough.

    Thank you we have had this conversation with them before and the gp did recommend us for a diagnosis but then they just discharged us there's nothing being done. It's really infuriating
