Most of them are condescending and patronising - they boss you around and think pills are the solution to all your troubles

  • I've been saying something similar for a long time. There's a lot of talk of "raising awareness about mental health"

    Far be it for me to piss on the chips of anyone who is sincere in wanting to do something, but it's not awareness we need, it's treatment, or better yet, prevention.

    What even is "raising awareness?" -

    Hey, did you know depression is a thing?

    Yeah? Sounds terrible, what are we going to do about it?

    No idea dude, I just wanted to make you aware.

    It's the same with "If you're feeling bad, talk to someone" as if

    A) I hadn't thought of that

    B) It's that simple.
