Still learning with her ASC and triggers?

My daughter 13 was diagnosed with ASC last year. She recognises certain triggers which she couldn’t manage before. She is currently triggered by what’s going on in Ukraine and war. I tried to talk about it and explained that it’s not like the situation the uk had with hitler. As soon as I mentioned the word Hitler. She screamed that was a trigger for her. She cried, clenched her teeth and had to leave her room. We then sat in silence downstairs as anything we then mention ( even talking about our lovely dog) would then ruin and spoil it for her as she’d associate it with that. Does anyone know why this is or what it could be?
thanks
