yeah thats the media for you though, they will overblow things to spread fear and panic, because that sells stories and makes them rich.
but think on it... this has happened before when they took crimea by force, nothing came out of it and everyone accepted crimea is russian territory. this territory russia wants off ukraine now, it isnt all of ukraine, its but a tiny slither of it smaller than crimea and the only reason is because there are majority russian population living there and they all voted to rejoin russia, got ignored by ukraine and dictated to and then they decided to take up action to have their voices be heard, of which the western media refused to give them a voice and so we think ukraine was all roses and the good guys despite the fact they was persecuting the russian majority of a region who voted to break free.
its kinda like if the EU refused to let us leave with our brexit referendum, and wee protested about it, and they sent troops to gun us down to shut us up while the media turned a blind eye to it because the media support the EU.... then america comes to liberate and protect us then they get accused the same way russia is, that is the same opposite of what we see in ukraine. ukraine should have just respected the peoples will and got rid of them, it would have sorted their nations problems got rid of a rowdy demographic and avoided war and loss completely. also to avoid it in the future they need to stop allowing russian citisens to migrate and have citisenship and voting rights in their land. all of europe has this problem, we are naive and allow enemy nations to colonise over us with migration, take away our majority then you lost your voting power and rights to your own country, our own fault for the way we handle migration and allow ourselves to lose the majority of our own nations. ukraine will serve as a perfect example to us of the dangers of allowing replacement migration and how it results in handing your nation over to another nation freely.
I think that's the worst, most naive take I've read on the situation.
A) No one has accepted that the Crimea is part of Russia, the annexation has not been internationally recognized.
B) Your comparison with the EU is entirely disanalogous. 'The western media' has no role in recognizing the 'donetsk people's republic', because the territorial integrity of Ukraine is a matter for the Ukraine alone.
C) Russia has had proxy military forces in Ukraine for years, the 'donetsk people's republic' is a creation of the Russian military.
D) Countries shouldn't get to decide to invade other countries in support of independence movements they favour. Would you support France invading the UK in support of Scottish independence?
E) The situation has nothing to do with immigration. Please provide evidence of any UK immigrant population agitating to form a breakaway state.
