The war..

Is it wrong that the news is crippling me with anxiety? I seriously can’t breathe.. it’s not even my problem

Parents
  • I am only self diagnosed as having autism and have only just joined this group.

But I could not believe how anxious I became watching the news about the Russians invading the Ukraine.

I felt the same about covid . It was overwhelming

  • So, let us cat lovers push back a bit then shall we?

It's time for a thread (which be warned, if I start it, it will be called "show us your ***"!) with some nice cat pictures and cat lore to provide a bit of distraction.

When I got overwhelmed on Sunday morning with the shrieking & blathering of the T.V. set I just changed channel and invited our large orange cat up onto the sofa for some "fuss". Half an hour of sitting with him. makes me feel somewhat "opiated" and uplifted...

Last October our lovely and characterful tuxedo cat died most abruptly and unexpectedly, and I discovered the true and visceral meaning of the words "Emotional support animal". Just having a cat in my life, seems to take an awful lot of the sharp edges off. After a bit of a search we were able to find two unwanted ten year old cats and have just spent much of the last three months helping them find their feet in their new home. They are both beautiful and characterful little creatures, and a welcome distraction from the rather dismaying "normie" world outside.
