had a bad day

Hi

I have been sitting in for the past three days as I don’t work and have A toddler and baby to look after so days do get repetitive, so today I got up, got dressed and I just can’t face going outside. I know I should because it’ll make me feel better but even looking out the window is giving me anxiety. It’s raining and miserable but here I am feeling terrible for not wanting to go out. I’m on sertraline for anxiety and post Natal depression, been on them 5 weeks at 50mg and 1 week at 75mg please tell me this does get easier?

  • I'm so sorry to hear how your feeling :/ i cannot say it gets easier for definite as I've been on and off tablets for depression and anxiety since I was 16... I'm 27 now, but you will eventually figure out ways to cope with it day to day.

I have 3 children 10, 4 & 3 and understand the struggle with going out sometimes. We're currently on half term and haven't done one thing outside of the house yet. My partner definitely influences me to go out when he's not working and supports me in doing things.

I guess my situation is slightly different as with having a 10year old, if I've pre planned something with her she won't let me forget and pushes me to do it. It does take me a few hours but we eventually get there.

Could you possibly give yourself a reason to definitely go out of the house? I personally find it easier staying out of the house if there is a reason I need to be out such as food shopping or nursery runs ... I tend to make the most of it and try stay out as long as possible on days like them
