Inpatient in psych wards

Hi all, i’ve been inpatient in hospital 4 times waiting for a bed for my 5th. if any other autistic people have been in psych wards how do you cope? everytime i find the environment incredibly overwhelming and i’m looking for any advice i can get

    Hmm, I have the opposite issue where I function much better in a psych ward than out (I am also in one now). Due to the daily structure, lack of taxing obligations or distraction (socialising isn't that huge a draw for me) and sympathetic nature of the social environment. Structuring my life in isolation / time blindness and resorting to addictive substances are a major struggle for me on the outside.

    I can understand the potential of a psych ward to provoke sensory, social and emotional overwhelm and hope you are receiving good understanding and support.
