Hello,
I am brand new to this forum so let me introduce myself.
I am a man who has just turned 40 and am looking to have social contact with men/women
in the Manchester/Greater Manchester area, or within a 50 mile radius in the UK.
I have only just been diagnosed with a form of high functioning Autistic Spectrum Disorder
and am still learning all about the condition and how it affects me and others.
It would be great to meet with similar people to share common interests/stories and help
us all to best manage the condition better and therefore improve our quality of life.
Also, it would be great to be in regular contact with others all over the world!
Much love,
xxx
Hello I am new too! I was also diagnosed recently with high functioning autism a few months ago.
Hi NAS24284,
Welcome to the community!
If you are looking for a social group you can search for one in your area on the Autism Services Directory:
http://www.autismdirectory.org.uk/services/autism-services-directory.aspx
The directory includes services such as support groups and social groups under the 'Support groups and networks' category.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Kerri-Mod
Thank you for letting me know!
Hi California,
Not been on the forum for a while. To get the official diagnosis took about 5 months in total,
it was through the NHS and the process was not easy but not too painful either.
Regards
How much time did it take for you to get the official diagnosis?
Did you go through the NHS? If yes, was it an easy process?
Good to hear from you California
Thank you. The journey continues...
I am happy to be a friend.
I am also looking for a friend.
