Hi there Teardrops,
I hope you do keep in touch with school, for they ought to guide you along in this. Does the school have an Occupational Therapist (for sensory issues)... They usually can asses very well what overstresses a person, and what can calm someone down!
There might ne several reasons for him acting out. He might be overly adjusting himself at school.. and needs to vent where he feels most safe: at home..
It is most important for everyone at home, for him to have room te get it all out of his system.. Jumping a bed míght help (and is much more fun ;-) )
It might help to discuss in advance, what he might like after school: a dimly light room? No noise? Just some time on his own? Jumping a cushion, hitting a cushion? Lying underneath sth heavy (pillow/cushion/...) Try this out when he is nót stressed :D
Do you get him from school?! It might help, if he had something to gnaw on, when at school ánd especially going home at the end..
Just venting common/ordinary technics for regulating overstimulation.. For each person, the solution is different (might even be sth different on another day..) For each processes the stimuli differently.. so there is no óne answer here..
Good luck!!
Love, B'fly
Hi Teardrops,
Sorry to hear about how the last two weeks have been going.
You may want to start a new discussion about the meltdowns in the parents and carers section of the forum, that way there's a much larger chance of people who've experienced similar issues seeing it and responding.
You may also want to read our understanding behaviour section of the website, if you haven't seen it already -
