Hi everyone

Hi,

I have just found this online group so thought i would introduce myself. My name is Rhiannon and i am 37yrs old. I have two children, Josh (12) and Lucy (9). Lucy was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum disorder when she was 4.5yrs old and Josh was only diagnosed last September. Josh is having to see a psychiatrist for help fortnightly as he is struggling with managing his anger and also was having suicidal thoughts.

Currently Josh can get very very angry and it's hard to calm him down when he gets like this so i struggle a lot. Really hoping i can get suggestions from others on how i can try and help him along with getting support for myself.

Hope to talk to a few of you soon

Rhiannon

  • i am 15 years old and was diagnosed with aperger's a few years ago...

The past few years have been tough because I have a lot of trouble with procrastination and putting my full focus and effort into things or work that I am not interested in meaning that I am getting lower grades than what I could achieve. It's also been very hard because I would like to tell my peers that I have autism but I am scared how they will react... My school is very open and ethnically diverse with one openly trans guy but I am still really scared to tell anyone even my closest friends in school. So far I have only told 2 people that didn't think much of it and probably didn't know what I was talking about. I am also really scared about my future and if I will ever have a girlfriend, a wife and will ever have any sexual contact. most of the kids in my grade have already been in relatuonships and have probably already had their first kisses and maube some sexual contact for the "cool kids".
