Hi. As my subject box says my son has recently been diagnosed with having Autism. He's in a psychiatric hospital at the moment having been ther for about 10 weeks. At the time it was such a scary thing having to agree to your child being sectioned but now he's getting the help he needs. although I always knew there was something 'different' about my son I could never put my finger on it. The hospital describe him as having 'complex issues'. im trying to arm myself with all the help and information I can doso I'm a little bit prepared when he eventually comes home.
Hi Helsbels,
You might want to take a look at our page 'After Your Child's Diagnosis', where you can find information about helplines, social services, financial support and advice that might help you and your son going forward. http://www.autism.org.uk/about/diagnosis/children/recently-diagnosed.aspx
You may also want to search in the Autism Services Directory, where you can look for various services in your local area http://www.autism.org.uk/directory.aspx
I hope you can find something here to help you,
Ross
