Does anyone else have this issue?
Hi and welcome to the forum,
I am very sorry to hear about you and your son. There really should be no need for an able (or any other for that matter) child with autism to be left in this state nowadays. Somehow, you and he need to find a way for him AND you to learn better ways of dealing with each other. I have autism and I am also a parent who has struggled with bringing up children. It is not easy but if it has descended into abuse and endless conflict then you need help from outside to teach you both how to accept each other and appreciate why you are so different.
Have you called the helpline to speak to NAS about such things as residential courses at one of their centres? Have you been able to get someone to help you to identify local resources that you can make use of to take the chaos out of your lives?
