Support for autistic and deaf 16 year old

Hi,

My granddaughter will be 16 in July, she ia autistic and profoundly deaf with a Cochlear implant in.

My daughter is very worried as she has been told that when my granddaughter wants to live independently there is support for her autism but not for an interpreter due to funding.

Is this true? I can not believe that she will not get all the support she needs!!!

Anyone else got a child with both autism and deafness?

  • Hi BuddhaJan, we understand your concern as autism by itself is already a challenging condition to deal with. Much more, if she has a hearing disability. If you haven't yet, let a behavioral specialist assess your granddaughter's condition. You can also consider all other ways of making your grandaughter live as normally as she can by consulting a naturopathy expert like Dr. Sundardas.
