Hello from the US.
We are a family who enjoys travelling and we are planning a trip to Scotland for 2 weeks next summer. In planning an itinerary with our 18 year old son with aspergers, he mentioned wanting to possibly meet and connect with young ASD women and men during our travels.
He is open and friendly and sometimes shy (socialization not terribly difficult for him but sometimes conversation lags).
He will be going away from home to college in another state in the US next August and this trip is his graduation gift!
I expect having lunch or dinner, a drink (he's not that much into drinking but in Scotland, he may enjoy a pub experience!) an afternoon visiting sites, may be just the connection he seeks.
Since we travel often, he's got a keen sense of people and places and wants to expand his circle to include an international group of friends. If this resonates with anyone, let me know.
Regards,
EMP
Good points Curious.
Might be worth trying other fora for autistic people that are more focused on social events, try Aspie Village, Ambitious about Autism or Wrong Planet
