Hello everyone,
I have just signed up to the NAS site and just discovered the forum. I am a mum of a 2.5 year old boy who is currently being diagnosed with autism. I spotted different signs when he was about 1 and when he was 2 decided to get in touch with my health visitor. After two hearing checks and two assessment by different health visitors we are starting speech therapy next month. We are also waiting for an appointment with the pediatrician who will give a more detailed diagnosis.
The speech therapist agrees that there are some sings of autism but obviosuly because the spectrum is so vaste we need to wait and see what level my son is.
My little boy is quite active and loves play times, parks and his nursery videos. His communication skills and understanding is from a scale from 0 to 10 is level 3 so quite low. I am currently looking at Montessori methods to use in the home with him and also trying to find a way to start toilet training.
Hi Stefania,
Welcome to the Community!
I think you'll find us a friendly bunch. We have lots of other parents on here who will be able to share their experiences. Also don't forget to have a look at the parent resources on our site.
Look forward to getting to know you!
