Hello

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to say hey, howdy and hello. Um, I too am late diagnosis (late 20s) with Autism and it's been about a week since I found out. Its really odd to have this diagnosis as I thought I only had ADHD (which I havent been formally diagnosed with and actively trying to get a diagnosis still) and a few other learning disabilities but it has kinda thrown me for a loop.

I am excited to get to learn about myself and find ways of navigating this space and also now allowing myself to take up space.

This is just a very long winded way of me say hi and I hope that I can get to chatting with some people who... Well, get it.

Thanks for reading Sparkles

  • Hello, and welcome, from an old crusty to a young whipper-snapper.  Joy

I'm relatively new to this as well; I was diagnosed a couple of months ago.  I had suspected for a few years, yet on confirmation I felt really odd about it/myself for many weeks.  After several weeks of introspection, I realised that I am still the same old flawed person as before, just with new knowledge.  So, now I intend to be as full a part of the world as I can and understand more about autism and myself.

The best advice I received is to take it slowly and be kind to yourself.
