Newbie question ...

Newbie to this forum, joined after discovering most all of my character traits that we seem to have, and have had to deal with for decade,  after decade and decades, seem to related to the discovery that they are autism!

Hmmm, as we understand it,  Autism is a natural brain trait created at birth.   Is this true?

In the pass, we have learned how to deal with our character traits. The loner that we are, ... dealing with difficult social circumstances and:  the traits of the:  ...   Donna wanna man, ..  The Control freak, ..  Mr. annoyance, ..  and  Do it my way or the highway man,  etcetera,   all seem to point to Autism, but they seem to be getting worse, as we get older.

Is this common as we age. that ASD gets more difficult and worse?

Next, we take some calm homeopathic gummies, and sleep pills, but wondered if any of you here use a homeopathic remedy, that they would like to suggest.

thanks p.

  • Hi Oldart, and welcome to the online community!  There are plenty of older and late-diagnosed users here, so I am sure you will find a lot of common ground with them.

Just a quick reminder at the top though of Rule 6: No medical or legal advice is allowed on the community, so please keep that in mind.

You may like to try our Ask ASH service.  Ask ASH is a quick way to find the right pages on our website. Answer a few multiple-choice questions and Ask Ash can show you the advice, stories and services that fit your situation.  You can access Ask Ash here:  Ask ASH (Autism Support Helper)

You can also have a look at our About Autism page.  It gives a definition of autism with an overview of communication, behaviours and interests, and sensory processing differences.  It also talks about the "causes" of autism as well as myths related to that topic.

I hope that this is helpful to you, and that you enjoy your time on the online community.
