Mid 50s northener, late diagnosed *Jazz hands*

Got my diagnosis aged 52. Struggling with most things, including typing this. Feeling adrift after diagnosis, despite meeting people in similar circumstances in my area. I've invested in a number of books on the subject of autism/neurodivergence, the usual histories of-, coping mechanisms and such. I suspect I have ADHD, so reading through them feels a chore. Most days I feel like I'd rather eat them than read them. Hello!

If you believe that ADHD might be a factor in making reading difficult (I’ve been there), then maybe try works by Dr. Megan Neff. Self-Care for Autistic People is one of my favorite Autism books because it is written in bite-sized, page-long chunks of information that makes it a lot easier to digest than most other books. I tend to read textbooks much easier than typical novels, biographies, etc.
