Just diagnosed at 67

I am a 67 years old woman who was diagnosed a week ago.  I have grandchildren who have previously been diagnosed.  There is so much of my past life that I will be reviewing now in a different way.  I hope the diagnosis will have a positive impact on my self esteem, which has been low in recent times.

  • Hello and congratulations upon your diagnosis,

I am in my 70's and was only diagnosed a 6 months ago.  For me, it has taken this time to come to terms with my diagnosis.  At first I felt a bit empty but have rallied as I have viewed things via my new autistic self.

I too have looked at my past in a different light. However, as I cannot do much ot change the past I am looking more to the now and the future. I have found I am much happier and contented now than I have ever been.  I hope you feel the same in due course.

There is a lot of information on this site as well as people messaging.  I find I much benefit from belonging to this group.
