My adult daughter has been diagnosed as autistic and I would like to read some books on how best to support. Any recommendations please?

Hi Hel - welcome to the community!
An autism diagnosis can be the start of a new journey of learning and adapting. I'd suggest that your daughter takes extra care to be patient to, and kind with, herself - and takes her time with processing everything.
Autistic Girls Network (a UK charity) has a list of recommended books here:
Autistic Girls Network - Recommended books
The NAS also has some great resources that you might both find helpful here:
Therapy or counselling are often recommended after a diagnosis, as a follow up action for the GP to arrange. If that's the case for your daughter, you and she might find this book helpful. It discusses types of therapy and counselling, and offers advice on choosing a therapist or counsellor - all from an autistic person's viewpoint. Several of us here have found it useful:
The Autistic Survival Guide to Therapy
Also, here are a couple of other books that I and others have found helpful early on in our post-diagnosis journeys:
Amazon UK - Self-Care for Autistic People: 100+ Ways to Recharge, De-Stress, and Unmask!
How to Be Autistic (free download currently available via this page)
Finally, if your daughter is a teenager, you might both find the resources here helpful, too:
NAS - Resources for autistic teenagers > Know Yourself series
