Late diagnosed AuDHD - 35m - high masking

Hi everyone :)

I'm 35m, from the uk and recently formally diagnosed with both Autism and ADHD. I've been high masking and done quite well in the social sphere of life. My life looked great on the outside because I had a huge focus on what I "should" be doing.. not what was comfortable for me and it has come at great internal cost. These diagnoses are now helping me to get in touch with who I really am beneath the mask and to be more true to myself. I am married and am a parent to 2 lovely young children. Whilst I have "friends" from pre-diagnosis, if i'm honest, they were more like a mask - where i just had friends because that's what i thought you're supposed to do! I never really connected with them or shared anything about myself. Whilst the autism part of me wants to be isolated, the ADHD part of me seeks connection and i'm really interested in connecting with people who have been through similar things (late diagnosis, high masking etc)

So hi!
