I am new to the site, got a diagnosis of Aspergers ten years ago. Mostly I survive - I have a social housing flat but no support of any sort (formal or informal).
My last employer, in the social sector, took exception to my raising concerns about treatment of our clients...and then took great delight in making my worklife unbearable, then refusing to give me a reference when I left. That's the kiss of death in care work...and I was only doing that because I'd run out of better ideas.
I'm now nominally self-employed, which gets me off the DWP books. To be fair, I'd rather have less income than JSA if it means I dont have to endure their ignorance, discrimination and shaming.
Been feeling increasingly lonely and pointless lately, so I sought out this 'community'.
