Hi! I am new here

Hello! I am new here and newly diagnosed. I was just diagnosed in March last year and have learned a lot about myself through occupational therapy and speech therapy.

When I received my autism diagnosis, I did feel a bit sad that I wasn’t diagnosed when I was younger. I sometimes wonder how things might have been different with school, both during childhood and later on.

I should add that I’m based in the United States, but I feel more at home surrounded by people from the United Kingdom online. The United Kingdom is one of my special interests.

  • Good morning from America, cozythings112!

It’s pretty rare that I find another American on here, so that’s exciting. I get what you mean by being more comfortable around UK people online. My mother’s special interest is also UK because of our heritage from there, so I grew up with a lot of Beatles and such lol. Also, it always feels like talking with other Americans is 50/50 going to be a good conversation or a horrible one because of the Democrat/Republican divide. So yeah, I get it.
