Recent diagnosis

Hello,

I'm new here as I have only recently, at the age of 61 received an ASD and ADHD diagnosis. It has helped me to make sense of many things in my life but now I would like to start living.

I have been attempting to get a career in radio going for the last 40 odd years, but have always been too anxious about approaching people for a chance. I do a show on a community station, which I have been doing for the last 17 years but would really love to get paid for my passion.

I have always struggled with money management and am almost homeless. I just want to live a simple life in a house and make radio programmes.

So that is me right now.

  • I really appreciate everyone's replies. I can give some context.

I have worked in hospital, college, local and community radio for about 35 years now. I worked behind the scenes in local radio for years but didn't have the confidence to approach the right people with my ideas.

I have been presenting a show on a local community station for the last 17 years and absolutely loved it. I would just like to move the show that I do into an area where I can make a living from it.

I just feel that my nuerodivergent brain holds me back from approaching the right people.
