Recent diagnosis

Hello,

I'm new here as I have only recently, at the age of 61 received an ASD and ADHD diagnosis. It has helped me to make sense of many things in my life but now I would like to start living.

I have been attempting to get a career in radio going for the last 40 odd years, but have always been too anxious about approaching people for a chance. I do a show on a community station, which I have been doing for the last 17 years but would really love to get paid for my passion.

I have always struggled with money management and am almost homeless. I just want to live a simple life in a house and make radio programmes.

So that is me right now.

  • Hi

    Welcome to the Community.

I was diagnosed in my early 60s about 16 months ago. I’m also on the waiting list for an ADHD assessment.

You’re great because you know what you want and I hope you succeed.

I’m looking at the response from  and I think autistic people in their 60s like you could be great pioneers. Sometimes we feel left out of the equation when autism is discussed. I’m sorry I have no experience in radio or podcasting so I can’t offer help with that.
