Recent diagnosis

Hello,

I'm new here as I have only recently, at the age of 61 received an ASD and ADHD diagnosis. It has helped me to make sense of many things in my life but now I would like to start living.

I have been attempting to get a career in radio going for the last 40 odd years, but have always been too anxious about approaching people for a chance. I do a show on a community station, which I have been doing for the last 17 years but would really love to get paid for my passion.

I have always struggled with money management and am almost homeless. I just want to live a simple life in a house and make radio programmes.

So that is me right now.

  • Hi and welcome Hugging

I like your attitude about wanting to start living.

I know for me it can feel like the ADHD wants to accelerate everything, but the autism puts the brakes on.

What have you got to lose if you ask?  It sounds like you have lots of experience. You’ll never know if you don’t.

I really hope things get sorted soon and that you get some stability with your housing.
