Hello

Hi! After much waiting and long time of wondering why I don't fit in I've finally been diagnosed with ASD. It's been a long time coming as my initial appt with my old therapist was when I was 14! Feels like a lifetime since then lol.

It's nice to know why I'm so different but I worry that I still won't fit in.

I have lots of interests like Pokémon and listening to music. I think my special interest might be collecting things, I own lots of vintage bears, toys, hats and records.. Still need to get a record player though! Lol Laughing

Looking forward to meeting you all. Have a good day.

  • Hey! Welcome - first off, huge congrats on the diagnosis. That "long time coming" bit? Yeah, I feel you. Fourteen to now... that's a whole chapter of life spent wondering "why am I like this?" and finally getting an answer. It's like someone handed you the manual after years of guessing.

Not fitting in is... kinda the point. The community isn't about being the same - it's about being different together. You've got Pokémon, music, vintage bears, toys, hats, records... that's not "weird," that's you. And trust me, there's someone out there who'll geek out over your collection harder than you do. (Seriously - post pics of those bears sometime. I'd love to see 'em.)

The record player? Get one. Nothing beats flipping vinyl while the world quiets down.

You're not late to this. You're right on time. Stick around - we're glad you're here. Clap
