Hi, I'm new :)

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and am here to introduce myself, just call me by my username :) I'm in my early 20s and got my autism diagnosis when I was in primary school, but I've always been ashamed of it up until recently. I've only just opened up to the idea of accepting help and support from others, as well as using regulation tools such as stress toys and listening to music, etc. I'm hoping that being able to talk with people who share my diagnosis will help me :)

I'm currently studying film and tv production, I enjoy working on creative projects and writing stories, but I'm kind of terrible at writing at the moment. I'm trying to improve my writing skills so I can start finally putting my ideas on paper. I do a lot of gaming in my free time, usually I'll go for the management/tycoon type games as well as simulator games. I'm currently playing a lot of Planet Coaster, but I love taking creative inspiration from story/narrative games too.

Looking forward to speaking with the community and getting to know everyone.

  • Good morning from America, grainm!

I’m glad to hear that you are becoming more comfortable with being Autistic.

but I'm kind of terrible at writing at the moment.

That’s kind of funny, because you seem to be doing very well with writing here. You’re crystal clear and I can follow what you’re saying. I’m a bit of a writer, but my main thing is writing music. My advice would be to go for it; Try writing something. Your first attempt might not be excellent, but each try you make will turn out better and better.
