New member-introducing myself

Hello, Im mia. I l love cats, Disney, and crafting (particularly embroidery) at the moment. I was diagnosed with autism late last year. Although I already self identified, I feel the diagnosis has caused significant challenges in accepting myself. Im hoping that connecting with others may help me feel less alone in this journey.

  • Hi, welcome to the community. I wish you find here like minded people and support. I'm not diagnosed, only suspected.  The discovery was very hard for me at the beginning, then there was imposter, now im on meds so I'm kinda "not myself" and don't care about self doubts so much. I found here support and long term penpals I'm here 2 years already and I find this place very supportive,  although only online, it's crucial for my wellbeing.

  • Thanks very much. I definitely used to feel a lot of imposter syndrome, particularly when you have spent such a long time masking and pretending/acting as if your 'fine', its so confusing when the mask slips and it feels like the person you thought you were isn't the case really. I'm glad the online forums help your wellbeing, I'm hoping they'll help me too.
