Hey. This is all fairly new to me. Pleased to meet you!

Hello. I am new here. I am 51. My brother has been diagnosed with autism this year, so has my step daughter and it feels like lots of things are finally falling into place for me. My daughter and myself have been referred by GP through RTC for an assessment for autism and adhd. My closest friend assesses autism and believes that I definitely am and now I’m looking at my whole family and can see this in my mum, dad, their partners, my husband and on and on it goes, It’s fascinating to me that it has taken me so long to make this connection. I am a therapist and help lots of autistic people, we speak the same language so to speak. I am totally fine with it and would like to get more involved with the autistic community so that I can finally feel seen and not have to mask and pretend. Thankyou for listening.

  • Hey good morning from America, Cloudbaby1975!

Congrats on finding your tribe! That’s super cool that you are a therapist. I also work with load of Autistic people as well in my job. I think that being Autistic really helps when you’re in a situation like that.

I wish the best for you and your family as you slowly all get assessed lol.
