Introducing Myself

Hello, I have been meaning to introduce myself in the Forum for a while. Hope you are all well and your year so far has been good, apart from if you're in the UK (particularly Devon) and you have had to move into a boat!

I am here because I am waiting for an Autism Assessment for our daughter aged 16, we are 19 weeks. My daughter hasn't been able to cope with the demands of School and Social situations since September 25, it's been a long time coming but we are really struggling at the moment. CFHD referred, CAMHS referred and neither would Support. No EHCP in place. Luckily the School and GP are being super supportive.

Wondered if there was anybody out there going through anything similar at such a crucial time of doing GCSEs. Which I will struggle to get her to. School is currently allowing her to work at home with a Teams every three days as contact. and have made adjustments for her Exam environments but she still cant get herself to School.

Anyway, Hello all and Thank you for listening

  • Hi (love the name btw we could be of a similar vintage) ?

Unfortunately I can't help with your current situation as I don't have children, but I wanted to say hello and welcome you here as there will be people who can relate and provide advice much more succinctly than I am able to. It does sound as if the school have been extremely accommodating which is a positive at the very least. I wish you and you daughter all the very best for the coming months.
