Hi, newbie here :)

Hi, I'm MilesAway, thanks for letting me join. I'm mid 40s and undiagnosed ASD. I've just taken the first steps into seeking an assessment after years and years of suppressing, masking and the ensuing exhaustion. I'm pretty sure I'm high masking and I'm very anxious about what's going to happen and that I won't t believed. Not great with doctors or assessments, my brain always assumes it's a test! Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated :)

It totally makes sense to feel a little anxious about getting an assessment. Good news is, if you’re positive you have ASD, chances are you’ll probably be given that diagnosis.

My word of advice is to write down your Autistic traits on a sheet of paper before you go in. It’s easy to forget exactly how Autism impacts your life when you are there in the assessment. I wish I would have done that for my assessment, even though I did get a positive diagnosis.
