hi im new im 100 percent sure i have autism but i havent been diagnosed yet every time i visit the dr to get diagnosed i dont know how to talk to my gp i find it hard to talk to drs especially since before i was diagnosed with a cronic illness they never would take me seriously and did not belive me so im worried they do the same thing about this  so i dont mention it i hope i can be diagnosed soon i read about it and realised almost  every thing it said was true about me except for being smart because i had a brain injury but before i had brain injury i was smart and had a high iq

  • Dont worry about whether the GP believes you, they have no diagnostic authority for Autism Spectrum Variances, just insist on a referal to the local Autism practitioner for assement.

    I'm sorry to hear about your injury, are you recieving therapy to help you restore lost function? This brain injury might prove to complicate the diagnosis slightly so remember to stress that your difficulties predated that injury.
