I was assessed in 2023 and, as seems to be more typical than it should, had no follow through support. I have been stumbling around yet reading and learning loads on being Autistic, and the broader topic of neurodiversity. I even ran courses in my work on the topic.
I can deal with the sensory differences, internal and external, yet am struggling more with the communications side.
Being non-social, I have zero friends beyond my wife, find that conversations must be on topic or my mind drifts.
I have a solid work background working in UK and Australia, with public, private and academic sectors. Yet I cannot get to grip with the recruitment process.
Anyway, I am hoping to find ways that I can use to broach the comms barrier.
Not sure if mentioning books etc. is allowed so will hold off for now. There are some excellent ones out there, and some that do not hit the mark for me. Perhaps a book club/conversation may help?
