Hi I just want to introduce myself as a recently diagnosed ASD late 50's man.
Just trying to get my head around the diagnosis, but it has enabled me to make sense of my life so far.
I am hoping to make some friends on here

Hi, welcome to the forum! I'm not diagnosed, but late suspected, on my way. I wish you make friends here.
Good morning from America, Uncle Broady!
Congrats on your diagnosis! I’m glad that it has helped you to put your life so far into context. Like Cinnabar_wing said, don’t forget to forgive your past self; He didn’t know what you know now.
Hi, like Martin I was diagnosed at 59 and it is liberating. It can take a while to get your head around it and to re-code the past so be gentle and patient with yourself. Hope you find friendship and support here.
I was diagnosed at 59. I found discovering the reason why I am like I am immensely liberating. It allowed me to forgive myself for past occasions where I did not live up to the high standards I tend to set for myself. I was an undiagnosed autistic person, I had difficulties that most other people cannot even imagine, so not being superman is entirely forgivable.
Hi! Welcome, there are a lot of folk who have come late to their diagnosis or self-realisation (both valid).
It's a very different way to look at your life and realise the tricky bits had a reason they were difficult. Hope you also find forgiveness for youself!
Best wishes.
