Just diagnosed

I was diagnosed with asd at the end of last week after spending forever never fitting in and always feeling like I don't really belong on this world. Diagnosed now and it does feel good to finally "know" the truth about myself, though still feeling a bit overwhelmed but I'm guessing this is normal? The assesor did say there's no right or wrong way to feel and that it could be months or years before I finally process this.

It's sure fab to have my diagnosis though!

  • I like the way you describe having a diagnosis as ‘fab’ - I love the positivity of that :)

And I think it is a very positive thing. It took me a while to process it too (give it time and don’t be surprised if you find many mixed emotions arising from it over the next few weeks and months) but overall I feel I’ve ’found my tribe’ - which (for someone who never felt a part of many ‘groups’ in the past) feels really lovely.
