Hello everyone, I am diagnosed autistic (ADHD diagnosed too) only one week ago. I feel a little emotional and lost to be honest. I feel so relieved and validated to be finally diagnosed with autism, I did suspect I was autistic for a long time. I’m a 50 year old woman just wanting to connect with similar women really, maybe you’re all further on with your late-diagnosed journey than me? Thank you in advance for any kind responses x I apologise in advance if I am late to reply, sometimes I get overwhelmed and need a while !!

  • Hi and welcome to the community. I'm a woman in my mid sixties, and I discovered that I was on the spectrum when I was in my fifties. I'm retired and enjoy reading and playing video games.

    Hi  thank you for welcoming me, I am finding reading all of the posts interesting. I am spending time processing this recent diagnosis, it took a while when I got my ADHD diagnosis so I expect similar this time. I am unravelling 50 years of confusion, misunderstandings, misdiagnoses, gas-lighting, trauma and being dismissed so there’s a lot! It’s very exhausting but I’ll get there in time. It helps to read about other’s similar experiences. Best wishes to you
