Hi my name is Lindsay from Blackburn England, I am 53 and have no friends, I work in a care home doing activities for the elderly, I am a keen runner and run and bike nearly every day, i have 3 children, an axolotl, 2 dogs and a hamster, I have run the London marathon twice which I would say is m6 second biggest achievement after my children. I get so lonely at times, my daughter is my friend and she also struggles socially.

Would love to talk to someone.

  • Hello and welcome to the forum! I am in my mid twenties and I am a big gamer. I’m sorry you don’t have any friends either, I also don’t have friends, it’s very hard to make friends these days as I find majority of people are more self absorbed and don’t care for anyone else. I’m sorry your daughter also struggles with social situations but it sounds like you have each other for company.

Wow that’s amazing that you managed to run that London marathon once but twice? Omg wow you deserve you be very proud of that!

I hope you find this forum to be helpful and you enjoy your time here.

  • I’m trying to post a photo of me but it won’t let me, yes the marathon was tough, I run for my mental health as it lets out natural endorphins, what are your hobbies and strengths

  • Ahh I don’t think you are allowed to post photos of yourself on the forum due to confidentiality rules and of course to protect yourself. That could be why. Tbh I can’t post pics of anything on here, I tried to send a game screen shot but it wouldn’t load anyway.

My hobbies include gaming (mainly Nintendo) and doing arts and crafts really. I will also go out for walks and spend time in nature if it’s quiet enough but it’s been very busy lately, I’m more of a night person as I just love the peace and quiet of it all.

Running and any form of exercise is great for mental health, I have noticed that when I have played my fitness games that I actually feel good after the workout and when I play the game I tend to forget I’m exercising as I’m just so focused on the game and the story lol

  • Did you have a good time? I wish I was able to be as energised as you! Hope you feel good after all that exercise you deserve to have a good rest now

  • Im back from running 3 miles and 15 mile bike ride x

  • I know the feeling lol! I’m like that when doing my fitness games Rofl enjoy!

  • Aww bless, I’m literally just about to go out the door for a run x have to force myself out sometimes but feel great after Joy

  • I’m getting there. I’ve just had so much going on since September so it’s probably a burn out or something but trying to book a drs appointment but there never seem to be any!

  • Just out for a plod nothing special, hope you feel better soon.

  • Ahh you have a good run today! Yeah I had a great sleep I’ve not long been awake lol. Later I go to sleep later I wake up haha!  I’ve been quite unwell lately so I’m not able to exercise but hopefully I can recover fully soon. Had a vertigo attack on Monday it was so awful! Hope you slept well!

  • Hope you enjoyed your sleep, I’m in Liverpool a lot, I’m there soon, running a race a Sefton park next month, just getting ready to go for a run now then off for a bike ride.

  • I’m from Liverpool area. I’m exactly the same as you when it comes to making friends, it’s like the nervous system takes over. I also struggle to keep conversations going, like I’m ok with chatty people but when people don’t carry on a conversation and they just stare it’s so awkward and I’m like expected to carry on chatting or I just leave but that awkward silence is so annoying. Sometimes it’s better to not have friends as you can be yourself and you what you want when you want I guess but being lonely can be super upsetting. But you want to make the right friends and not some random people who will just turn their back on you but it’s so hard to find the nice genuine ones out. I have enjoyed being on this forum though and I hope you will like it here too, it’s just quiet now as majority of people probably asleep now. I’m a night owl lol but I’m off to bed soon too!

  • Yes, I’ve struggled all my life with friends, I don’t know how to act around people so I struggle to make friends. Even in my running group I struggle with the other ladies. Which part of the country are you from.
